How to ensure your company’s social media presence is a success

How to ensure your company’s social media presence is a success

There are a couple things that no social media marketing campaign should be without. Your website is of course the very centre of your campaign and it therefore stands to reason that it needs to be professionally designed and managed. Considering that a lot of web traffic nowadays comes from smart phones and tablets, it is also advisable that your website be compatible with these platforms.

Make sure you also have a presence on Facebook, Twitter and all the other social networks and be certain to add highly visible links on your website. Having a presence on these social networks tells people that you want to connect with them on a more personal level. When people post questions to you on these platforms be sure to reply and thank them. Also try to reply in under 30 minutes as this is what people see as a good response time. View your presence on these networks as an important part of your social media marketing campaign and don’t neglect any of them.

The next weapon you need in your social media arsenal is a blog. This will convince people of the importance of the product or service your company provides and draw them to your website. When it comes to blogs, it is important to remember that they must be well written, easy to read and engaging. What people are looking for when it comes to blogs (or any piece of writing, for that matter) is a loud and clear voice, a voice that knows what it wants to say and how to say it. A good tip is to write as though you are talking to a particular person in a very informal setting. Be sure to publish blogs consistently and on a regular basis and don’t forget to hyperlink keywords that will take people through to your website.

How to use social media to improve your customer service

How to use social media to improve your customer service

Consumers aren’t just using social media to keep in touch with their social circles anymore; they’re using it to voice their opinions about brands and services, lodge complaints, ask questions and have their issues resolved. Using your company’s social media pages as a customer service tool is an excellent way to provide real-time help to customers anywhere in the world – and to let everyone else out there know that you care about your customers.

Here are some steps you can take to improve your customer service via social media:

  • Check all of your social media pages daily. You don’t want to let too much time go by without monitoring your social media pages; there may be a customer who needs assistance and their issue may be time-sensitive – a lack of response from you might make them think you simply don’t care.
  • Respond to the positive feedback, not just the negative comments. It may be tempting to bypass the positive comments and get to work handling the complaints or questions, but customers who take the time to leave positive comments need to know that their business is appreciated.
  • Monitor your competitors. The great thing about social media is that most platforms are public forums, so you can see what your competitors are doing. There’s nothing wrong with a little healthy competition!
  • Do a daily search for your company name. This is especially important on Twitter, where complaints, comments and questions might not always reach you. Take an hour each morning and search through all of your social media sites for mentions of your company name.

The rise of social media means that customers aren’t content with the traditional “Contact Us” button on your website anymore. They want real-time answers and many take to social media pages to get the feedback or assistance they need. Connecting with your customers on social media is a convenient way to answer their questions and solve their issues in a timely fashion while allowing you to see what others are saying about you.

If you’re not blogging, you’re not ranking. Why?

Blogging for business has become a necessary means to establishing a sense of community and trust between your company and your consumers. That’s not the only benefit though – blogging is essential for increasing your website’s rankings.

The relationship between search engine rankings and blogging is a simple but often misunderstood one. Many people think that the only way to get good search engine ranking results is to pay the search engine company to rank you. While you can do this, there is a far more cost-effective way to get your brand out there. When you create blog content that is rich in keywords and useful content that links back to your company, it will help your website’s organic search engine rankings, making you easier to find. So, the more you write, the higher Google or any other search engine will rank you.

If you are not currently publishing a blog for your business, you are missing out on this opportunity to improve your rankings. This might help to explain why your website is not ranking where it should be when you are doing everything else right.

The measurable results of blogging as a part of a business’s content marketing strategy far outweigh the cost and effort of producing them, so it’s well worth making a business blog part of your content marketing strategy.

When you’re writing your blog, remember that quality, relevant material that is regularly published in an easy-to-read format is the best way to get your name out there and establish yourself and your company as a trusted source of information. The more people read and respond to your content, the more brand exposure you get and the higher your search engine rankings will be.

If you don’t have the time or experience to get your company’s blog up and running, you should contact a reputable digital marketing company who can write on your behalf. Contact WSI today to find out more about our blogging services.
