Article marketing is an art which requires practice and experience in terms of understanding what works. In this article I’ll talk about the critical mistakes that marketers make and then it’s up to you to decide to do it yourself or outsource to experts
Ego
Since it’s your business and you know your market and are well know is it THAT important to insure that you are writing good articles. You may skip the introduction, write in huge paragraphs, not focus on keywords and promote yourself within the content.
This is your ego talking and can be done unconsciously by relying too much on reputation to make the article effective. When you write articles, you are marketing to new readers as well as readers who have heard about you.
So treat every article like you’re writing to impress and attract new readers.
Break-through Information
Some experts slow down with the number of articles they write because they are thinking about what vitally important break-through information to write about. What is being said in the market place about a particular topic has already been said many times by many experts.
With article marketing, you don’t need to focus on writing new information. Explaining old, but useful information is a good approach. Not everyone who reads your articles is knowledgeable. You need to target new readers as well.
Using Poor Resource Material
Again, this is related to the expert’s ego who seem to use the same resource for all their articles as they have been effective in the past.
Adding more Fuel
After you distribute your article, the work doesn’t’ end there. You need to spend time promoting the articles and make the most from them. Try to point as much traffic as you can to the articles that are online. Social bookmark them, tweet them, put them on your blog and tell your existing customers.
This extra effort will add a lot more clicks and drive traffic to your article which will attract more readers. If your article is one of the most read during the past 90 days, it will get displayed in a premium location and enjoy better ranking from search engines which will again drive traffic and more visits
Should I Use a Trusted Internet Marketing Specialist
Article marketing is an art that you need to continuously approve. What works today, may not work tomorrow. We didn’t have Facebook and Twitter a few years ago but now we should use them to promote our articles. Make a checklist of things to do when writing and you’ll get more mileage from your article marketing.
Or partner with a trusted Internet marketing company who can assist in doing keyword research within your industry and help you understand what information customers are looking for and then plan a series of articles for a year ahead so that you are never at a loss on what to write about.

Today’s exciting blog post will be on the topic started by the Blog Action Day campaign “Climate Change”. Well I first saw the advertisement of this trend a couple of weeks ago.
Blog Action Day is an annual event that unites the world’s bloggers in posting about the same issue on the same day on their own blogs with the aim of sparking discussion around an issue of global importance. Rather than promoting the title “Climate Change”, I’ll be promoting Blog Action Day so that I can get you to join in on this trendy topic today.
Register at http://www.blogactionday.org/ to take part in this.
If you want more information regarding the Blog Action Day, view the YouTube video below.

Just before I started this post, Blog Action Day had 8009 registered bloggers posting about it on their blogs. Register and the count will go up. It’s for a good cause.

Online Classified Ad directories can be leveraged to attract business for your company. When written correctly and placed in the right media they can render good results for you in terms of customers who are looking to buy what you sell.
An online classified ad post does not need to be lengthy. Howvever, you should place special focus when you are crafting the headline and body copy of the ad. To be effective, the headline and copy must tell readers in just a few short words what you sell, why the reader will want to buy from you and what action you want the reader to take (for instance, click a link for more information , send away for information or call you on the phone.)
The headline should catch the reader’s eye and ‘hook’ them into scanning the rest of the ad copy. Focus on ‘Words that Sell‘. For example, words that promise a benefit such as “free,” “fast,” “reliable” combined with a term that summarizes what the reader wants to acquire works well to encourage the reader’s eye into the rest of the ad.
Although the number of words you can use may be limited by the kind of online classifieds you’re using or by how much you’re willing to spend, don’t cut so many words out of the text that the ad becomes meaningless. To make sure your ad is clear, have a few friends and family members read the ad before you submit it. If they don’t understand what you’re selling and why someone should call you, rewrite the ad.
In addition to helping you sell, Online Classifieds are also beneficial from an SEO perspective. If you have a website, then you can place a link to your website in your online classified ad. Google recognises incoming links as a good ranking criteria.
Some popular Online Classified Ad Directories include: Gumtree and Craigslist. There are obviously many more, however, the effectiveness of your classified ad will depend on several factors including what country you are in and what product you are trying to sell. So do some research around online classified directories that are specific to the country you are in and what you are wanting to sell.

ZA Group in association with Google South Africa hosted a business breakfast on the 4th of September 2009. Presenting was Google South Africa country manager, Stephen Newton. Newton is the former Google head of analytics & commerce for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Before joining Google, he was Vice President of Double Click’s Ad Exchange and General Manager of Hitwise UK. His talk covered the following;
Google Maps – Streetview
Street View is a popular feature of Google Maps that allows users to explore and navigate areas through panoramic street-level images. Stephen mentioned that South African businesses could benefit from the Street View technology by embedding Google Maps directly into their websites for free, helping them to promote their businesses and raise awareness. It was also mentioned that this feature would be beneficial to tourists coming to South Africa for the FIFA 2010 World cup as it would help them navigate easily. It was also noted that the process of collecting and processing the images would take several months and would be made available at a later date in Street View on Google Maps for South Africa.
Google Adwords
Stephen talked about the flexibility of Adwords mentioning how advertisers can spend as little or as much money they want, all depending on their advertising budget available. Newton also explained how AdWords allows advertisers to set up their targeted national regions, targeted language and country. Adwords distribution is one topic in which a bit of time was spent on explaining how ads are shown on the content and search networks. In conclusion Stephen Newton explained how Google remains committed and excited about improving access to information for local South African users.
